There are times, especially in youth, when a patient has malpositioned or misaligned teeth that need correction. This is very common. At Grosso Family Dentistry, we have treated our patients in the field of orthodontics for decades. Dental braces may be indicated and the treatment may last for a few years. They are usually adjusted every several weeks.
The benefits of using this treatment while the patient is a child include the fact that bones can more easily be moved around in childhood. Besides braces, other orthodontic treatments include orthodontic headgear, surgery, removable retainers, or teeth extraction. Clear aligners, such as Invisalign, may also be indicated. Usually, braces are placed on the front of the teeth, but they can also be lingual (on the side of the teeth where the tongue is). Dr. Frank Grosso and Dr. Katie Grosso have worked with numerous orthodontic cases and would be pleased to give a consultation.
The goal of orthodontics at Grosso Family Dentistry is to alter the misaligned teeth for patients in Carroll and Frederick Counties. Misaligned teeth can lead to poor nutrition, pain, or even facial alterations. With proper consultation and scan, Drs. Grosso and Grosso can come up with the least invasive technique to orthodontically treat our patients with the utmost care.
